Seniors Karee Dinkel and Ethan Nunnery received Outstanding Athlete Awards. The Jack Roberts Outstanding Female Athlete Award is given to one outstanding female athlete. The Swim Carpenter Smith Memorial Award is given to one outstanding male athlete.

Senior Brendan Chapman received the National Merit Commended Student. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 scorers among 1.6 million who took the 2016 PSAT.

Seniors Lacey Gregory and Dawson Rooney received the Governor's Scholar Award. The scholarship recognizes one-percent of high school graduates. Recognition is based on academic excellence, citizenship, contribution to one's school and community and ACT score.

Senior Sara Rohleder was selected for the Air Force ROTC Scholarship. One senior is chosen each year, and the scholarship pays 100% of tuition and fees at an in-state school, while also paying a monthly stipend of $300-500 a month and a $600 per year book allowance.

Nine seniors were chosen to receive a Hays FFA Chapter Scholarships. The amounts are based upon the level of participation members have shown throughout their high school years. A total of $13,580 was rewarded.

Senior Zachary Wagner was nominated to receive the Golden Belt Bank Scholarship. It is $1000 and the recipient is chosen by a committee of teachers and administrators.

Junior Cordelia Isbell received the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence. She was nominated by her teacher or guidance counselor for leadership ability, academic achievement and dedication to science  and technology.

Freshman Andrew Duke, freshman Kalyssa Boyle, and sophomore Allison Hillebrand received the ACL/NJCL National Latin Exam Award for doing extremely well on the 2017 National Latin Exam.
