Senior Cordelia Isbell was awarded $20,000 from the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program. Isbell was one out of twenty students nationwide to receive this scholarship.
The scholarship award was revealed on May 6 at 6:30 pm in Gym A, during the Academic/athletic awards night.
“I didn’t know I was going to know this soon,” Isbell said. “They said June 1 was when they would be announced, but that was probably just a cover up to make it a surprise.”
Students that received a scholarship from Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program are recognized for their exceptional leadership in classrooms and the community, as well as achievements in athletics. This is Foot Locker Foundations eighth consecutive year awarding/recognizing students.
Isbell hopes to attend college at Pomona College in Claremont, California.
“I was so shocked, I had no idea what was coming for me,” Isbell said.
