After getting postponed until Wednesday, April 24, the Hays staff vs. Thomas More Prep staff basketball game, sponsored by the two schools’ Student Councils, was held at Hays High School.
The final score was a loss for Hays High, 49-41, but according to StuCo sponsor Luke Lundmark, the game was a successful fundraiser that raised more than $2,000 for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Foundation. The game had more than 400 Hays and TMP students and patrons in attendance.
“The game had great energy, and it was so much fun,” Lundmark said.
Next year, Lundmark said they plan to host the event during buffer week, the week in between fall and winter sports, to gain more attendance.
