Softball improves on season against Dodge City on April 9

The Lady Indians, now 1-7, played against Dodge City on April 9.

The girls softball team played at home against Dodge City on April 9, losing the first game, 10-6, but making a comeback in the second game, 8-6.

In the first game, junior Nicole Dinkel had two homeruns, followed junior Tessa Stickel and senior Kaylie Schoendaller with one homerun each. Dinkel also had three RBIs. Stickel, Schoendaller and freshman Hope Aufdemberge each had one RBI for the first game.

Schoendaller, along with juniors Madison Prough and Shannon Schumacher, each scored a homerun in the second game. Prough had three RBIs while Schoendaller had two. Dinkel, Schumacher and senior Emily Peckham each also had one RBI.

The girls’ season is now 1-7.

The team’s next game is April 10 against Salina South at home.
