Hays softball improves record to 6-2-2 after slew of games

The Hays High lady Indian softball team faced off against Garden City on April 9, Wichita Northwest on April 12, Maize South and Goddard Eisenhower on April 13, Great Bend on April 17 and a rematch against Garden City on April 22.

On April 9, the lady Indians hosted the Buffaloes with an incoming record of 3-2. Hays added a win to the record after beating Garden City, 7-4. Three days later, the lady Indians continued their win streak at home after a victory of 5-2.

The next day, Hays traveled to Maize South, trying to improve their record to 6-2. However, after a rough game, the Maize South Mavericks defeated Hays High, 13-1. The lady Indians then battled against Goddard Eisenhower, and after a close game, Eisenhower edged out a victory, 3-2.

On April 17, the lady Indians hosted the Great Bend Panthers in a double header. After neither team scored in the first game with a final score of 0-0, the second game was a high-scoring thriller; Hays pulled away at the end to win the second game, 11-8.

Hays played against the Garden City Buffaloes for the second time on April 22. Both teams struggled offensively, and the final score was a tie, 0-0.

The lady Indians now hold a record of 6-2-2, and they play at Thomas More Prep-Marian (TMP) High School on April 25.
