With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, students have varying feelings about the day and their plans.

Some students are excited and plan to spend time with their boyfriend or girlfriend while others could care less about the affectionate holiday.

Junior Faith Kohl said she will be working on Valentine’s Day.

“It’s a stupid holiday,” Kohl said.  “All people do is waste money on stupid stuff.”

Senior Kenny Rounkles shared his plans.

“My girlfriend and I are planning to go out for dinner on Saturday night because I will be gone for a basketball game on Friday night,” Rounkles said. “I like Valentine’s Day because it’s another holiday I can spend time with my girlfriend and give her presents to make her smile.”

Senior Colton Leiker said he loves Valentine’s Day.

“I really like it because it gives me a good reason to surprise my girlfriend,” Leiker said.

Junior Becky Meagher says Valentine’s Day is her favorite holiday.

“I love Valentine’s Day,” Meagher said. “My family and friends and I always get each other little gifts to let them know how much we love them.”

Most students seem to either be indifferent on the subject of Valentine’s Day, or they enjoy it and celebrate it.

“My birthday is on Valentine’s Day,” junior Abby Henry said. “So I like Valentine’s Day.”
