Following the regular season, the girls basketball team started its post-season play, taking on Goddard and Bishop Carroll in sub-state play.
On Feb. 28, the girls faced Goddard at home, finishing the game by beating Goddard, 53-45.
“I thought our girls played very hard and responded to adversity well,” coach Len Melvin said. “Goddard made a few runs at us, and every time they did, our girls responded in a positive way. It’s always good to win, and especially fun in post-season. I thought our crowd was amazing and really helped our girls down the stretch. It’s exciting to get to play more basketball!”
The lady Indians advanced to play Bishop Carroll for the sub-state title on Saturday, March 2 at Bishop Carroll in Wichita, but they dropped a close game to the lady Eagles, losing 38-34.
