Boys basketball season ends after win against Dodge City, losses against Great Bend and Goddard

After four straight wins, the Hays High Indians boys basketball team concluded their season with their last two regular season games against Dodge City and Great Bend, then their first-round playoff game against the Goddard Lions.

On Feb. 20, the Indians took on the Dodge City Demons at home. The Indians got off to a quick lead and began to pull away. The Indians won 43-25 to improve to 13-6 on the season. Senior Jack Weimer led the team in scoring with 13 points.

The Indians’ final regular season game of the season was played at Great Bend on Feb. 23. After a tough battle, the Panthers grew a lead to win their final home game, defeating the Indians, 67-54. Weimer led the team in scoring with 18 points on the night.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Indians took on the Goddard Lions on Feb. 28 at home. Despite the home court advantage, the Indians trailed and lost 63-47 to end their season with a record of 13-8. Weimer led the team in his final game with 12 points.
