After a long vacation in the winter, Spring Break can feel as though it can’t ever come fast enough. Shortly before this time, the stress of class can really become a burden to a student.

Junior Austin Gray said he feels Spring Break can be used to catch up on school work.

“It’s easy to fall behind,” Gray said. “During break, you have a bunch of extra time to finish things.”

Gray said he also believes Spring Break should partially be dedicated to taking your mind of school.

“We go through nearly two months of nearly killing ourselves because of our grades,” Gray said. “It’s kind of nice to not think about school. People who are involved in things don’t nearly get enough free time. Plus, if you work, it frees up your work schedule so you are able to make more money.”

Freshman Molly Hoar said she is excited to be able to relax during break.

“Students need a break from this place every once in awhile,” Hoar said. “I’m so stressed out, and I’m sure a lot of other people are too.”

Junior Rachel Mewhinney said she doesn’t plan to think about school at all during break.

“I don’t see a point in working on school work while you’re on break,” Mewhinney said. “It’s a break for a reason. We all need to just relax and enjoy it instead of worrying about our classes for once.”

Senior Brandi Zimmerman said she plans to put school to the back of her mind.

“I am unbelievably stressed right now,” Zimmerman said. “I have written four different essay assignments in the past couple of days.”

Hoar said she believes there can be a balance between relaxing and getting things done.

“A break can be a perfect opportunity to catch up on things,” Hoar said. “There has to be some kind of balance. People experience Spring Break differently than others.”
