Indian Call King and Queen crowned between games

The 12 Indian Call candidates anxiously awaited the announcement of the King and Queen at Friday’s game as Indian Call week has begun to draw to a close.
Candidate senior Spencer Greathouse said he was very nervous to find out the results.
“Even though I was nervous, I was still very excited and just ready to go have some fun,” Greathouse said. “I had a great time as a candidate and the entire thing was just a great experience.”
Between the women’s and men’s games, the candidates took the floor to hear the results. Seniors Maddie Peters and Derek Drees were chosen as Queen and King.
“All day I was really nauseous,” Peters said. “On the ride to the high school I was so nervous. Once they called my name the first thing through my head was oh my gosh. When I walked up with Derek I was really happy and a bit overwhelmed. It was really an honor to be chosen by my classmates and I’, excited to come back next year and crown the new King and Queen.”
