Students walk down the decorated hall to get to Gym B for the Homecoming dance.

Every first Wednesday of the month, Student Council has its monthly meeting, and on Wednesday, Oct. 4, StuCo members gathered in the cafeteria.

The monthly meeting consisted of reviewing Homecoming events and statistics. They discussed how many people participated in spirit days, float building and the dance.

Over the years, the dance attendance has gone up. In 2021, there were 435 people in attendance, and in 2022, there were 620 people. This year, 766 people were in attendance. Next year’s Homecoming date will be Oct. 11, 2024.

StuCo also discussed its upcoming events. They will also be helping DECA with “Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat” on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. In November, the elementary leadership teams will be coming to the high school to get a sense of what it is like.

Community service officer Caleb King said, “It was a very stressful, however, it paid off, and it was very exciting to see all of our plans come to life.”
