Boys team participates in Great Bend swim meet

On Jan. 22, the Hays High School boys swim team competed at Great Bend for a swim meet. Overall, the team took third place with 368 total points.

Here are the individual scores for the team members and the team relay scores:

50-meter Freestyle: fourth Place – Marshall Sook, sixth place – Chase Zadina, 12th place – Cedric Durr

100-meter Backstroke: fourth place – Karsen Flaska, fifth place – LeRoy Goodspeed, eighth place – Bryton Unsworth

100-meter Breaststroke: eighth place – Conner Miller, ninth place – Jack Zeller, 11th place – Jude Hileman

100-meter Freestyle: fifth place – Chase Zadina, ninth place – Cedric Durr, 10th place – Maison Desaire

200-meter Freestyle Relay: first place – Chase Zadina, Karsen Flaska, Leo Hernandez and Marshall Sook; sixth place – Justin Reeves, Jude Hileman, Maison Desaire and Jack Zeller

200-meter Medley Relay: sixth place – Cedric Durr, Jack Zeller, Leo Hernandez and Jude Hileman

200-meter Freestyle: sixth place – Karsen Flaska, eighth place – Leroy Goodspeed, 11th place – Noah Schaeffer

400-meter Freestyle Relay: third place – Chase Zadina, Cedric Durr, Karsen Flaska and Marshall Sook; sixth place – Justin Reeves, Leo Hernandez, LeRoy Goodspeed and Maison Desaire

Coach Kendra Clary said she was happy with the team’s performance.

“After many weeks of delay due to weather, the Hays High boys relays were able to return home with multiple season best times,” Clary said.
