Girls swim team competes at Campus High School meet

Recently, on March 28, Hays High School’s girls swim team traveled to Campus High School in Haysville. The team took fourth place with a total of 246.5 points.

Here are the individual scores for the team members and relays:

50-yard Freestyle: 11th place – Katelyn Stieben, 13th place – Kiera Dealy, 20th place – Kiera Dealy

100-yard Backstroke: second place – Jaylen Hughes, 12th place – Cailin DeBey

100-yard Freestyle: first place – Izabel Schmidt, sixth place – Jaylen Hughes, ninth place – Breckyn Wahlmeier

200-yard Freestyle: first place – Izabel Schmidt, ninth place – Breckyn Wahlmeier, 11th place – Cailin DeBey

200-yard Freestyle Relay: seventh place – Addybelle Birdsall, Katelyn Stieben, Cailin DeBey and Jayleigh Weilert; 12th place – Janessa Miller, Loren Tervort, Jordyn Flavin and Anne Wintch

200-yard Medley Relay: third place – Jaylen Hughes, Lucy Tippy, Izabel Schmidt and Breckyn Wahlmeier

400-yard Freestyle Relay: fifth place – Addybelle Birdsall, Katelyn Stieben, Cailin DeBey and Kiera Dealy

“Things are already clicking for the girls this season,” coach Kendra Clary said. “Each one is improving, challenging themselves and swimming some of their best races early on. The best parts are the amount of enthusiasm these girls bring and their commitment to supporting each other.”
