Lady Indians take close 41-37 victory over Dodge City Demons on Feb. 1

Senior Mattie Hutchison attempts a basket at a previous game against Manhattan. They will now take on Garden City on Feb. 2.

The Indians took a close 41-37 victory over the Dodge City Demons on Feb. 1.

In the first quarter, the Demons took a two-point lead over the Indians going 10-5. The Indians almost caught up in the second half making the score at half time 15-14.

After the third quarter, the Indians were down by five points with the score being 28-23. During the fourth quarter, the Indians made a comeback to take the victory with the final score being 41-37

Leading the scoring was senior Savannah Schneider with 11 points. Juniors Tasiah Nunnery and Brooke Denning both threw in seven points, and senior Jaycee Dale scored six points.

Other scores included junior Isabel Robben with three points. Seniors Kallie Leiker and Mattie Hutchison and sophomore Brooklyn Shaffer all scored three points.

The Lady Indians are now 10-4 and will play Garden City at home on Feb. 2.
