The girls softball team won the double header March 15 against Goodland. The first game the girls shut out Goodland completely with the score being 18-0. The second game the girls won 11-5.
In the first game, freshman Hannah Herald had two home runs and freshman Kaylie Schoendaller had a double. Sophomore Taylor Adams had a double and sophomore Haley Wells stole two bases. Junior Katelyn Schumacher had two stolen bases and junior Brianna Wooldridge stole one base. Finally, senior Paige Lunsford had a triple along with a homerun and senior Mackenzie Albers stole two bases. Senior Jill Taylor also had a double.
In the second game, junior Shea Briggs had two doubles, Albers had one and Taylor had two. Wells was the only one to score a homerun. Albers and Wells also stole one base each.
“Herald recorded her first two wins of the season on the mound,” coach Abby Maska said. “She also started off her high school career at the plate with back-to-back homeruns in game one.”
