The boys soccer team won their first WAC conference game of the season of Garden City 3-1.
Hays took a 2-0 lead at the half.
Sophomore Jordan Windholz had the first goal off of an assist from junior Kellen Griffin.
Junior Ethan Fort had the second goal after Griffin played the ball across the front of the goal for Fort to convert.
Garden City had the first goal in the second half on a penalty kick after junior Josue Lopez gave up a foul inside the box.
Windholz then claimed his second goal of the game off of an assist from Fort.
“It feels good to get a WAC win,” Windholz said. “We haven’t been able to score lately, but finally put some in to help us win.”
The boys are back in action Saturday, Oct. 15 against Bishop Carroll.
