Students enjoy Spring break

Spring break; A time when teenagers travel all over to enjoy their sunny and in some cases not-so-sunny time off from school. Some students enjoyed their spring break, while others did not.

“I went to Chicago during Spring Break,” sophomore Alex Crowley said.  “I visited my uncle, went to museum of Science and Industry and visited the Art Institute. I also saw “The Book of Mormon.” It was a great way to relax and have time away from school.”

Sophomore Conrad Hoffman also had an eventful break.

“I didn’t go very far,” Hoffman said. “I went to the Cosmosphere in Hutchison, Kansas. It was tons of fun. We saw a lab, watched an I-max movie and visited the Planetarium. Who knew I’d actually learn something on Spring break?”

Junior Shelby Matlock also traveled during her Spring break for educational purposes.

“I went to Minnesota for a college visit,” Matlock said. “It was really fun. I always love to go places and see new things.”

Some students decided to enjoy the comforts of home on their time off.

“I didn’t go anywhere,” junior Adam Kober said. “I’m too lazy, but I still had a good break. I didn’t have to take time off work so I made money and when I wasn’t working, I was relaxing comfortably at home. I have no regrets.”

Other students didn’t have the pleasure of enjoying their break.

“I went to Arkansas for a mission trip during Sprink break,” Senior Eryn Johannes said. “I had fun sometimes, but for the most part it was kind of miserable.  We went to a ranch and we were put into tribes that simulate different countries. Some of us lived in small huts and in small cabins with no electricity and outdoor bathrooms, so we got to experience how other countries live. However, it was cold and raining so it wasn’t very enjoyable.”
