The 2016 Fall Musical is “Bye Bye Birdie”. Students planning to audition have been practicing their songs and monologues for the past two weeks.

Sept. 12 was the first day for auditions which consisted of singing and dancing.

Senior Mason Wellbrock has been involved with musical since he was a freshman.

“It’s definitely not as nerve-wracking as it had been in the past,” Wellbrock said. “In the four years of me being here, I think ‘All Shook Up’ had some pretty hard dance moves, but this year may top that.”

Junior Sara Rohleder said she believes the dancing section of the auditions is difficult for everyone.

“It’s not the best but I’m just going to keep prevailing through,” Rohleder said. “I personally believe this is the hardest audition dance routine I’ve ever had to learn.”

Sophomore Rebecca Anderson agreed the dancing portion was more difficult than last year’s.

“We’re a lot more fast paced than last year,” Anderson said. “But that just means our dancing is going to be super exciting to watch when it all comes together.”

Anderson said she enjoys the overall process of auditions.

“I love being able to see all the former musical members come back together,” Anderson said. “I’m really excited to see how this all turns out, especially with our set this year.”

Auditions will continue throughout the week with more dancing and monologue readings.
