Girls’ tennis team competes at regionals
Junior Maggie Robben played #2 singles at regionals.
The girls tennis team went to its final meet on Oct. 12 when the participated in regionals at Salina Central.
Players played two sets to six points, or three sets if the first two were won by opposing teams. A loss in the first round eliminated a player from the tourney. All teams attended by Hays were eliminated in the first round.
The results were as follows:
Playing #1 singles, senior Lynsie Hansen lost in the first round, scoring 2-6 and 0-6 on her matches.
Playing #2 singles, junior Maggie Robben lost in the first round, scoring 0-6 and 0-6.
Playing #1 doubles, freshman Kaylor Wellbrock and junior Taylor Deines lost in the first round, scoring 0-6 and 0-6.
Playing #2 doubles, sophomore Sage Zweiffel and junior Mylah Potter lost in the first round, scoring 1-6 and 0-6.
