The Indians traveled to Dodge City to play the Red Demons on Oct. 9. Right away, the game took a turn for the worst for the Indians as Dodge City led 14-0 just four minutes into the game. The Indians did not score in the first, but the Red Demons went on to score another three times within that quarter.
After the first quarter, the Indians’ defense got into gear and held the home team to scoring only nine points for the remainder of the game. Dodge City scored their final touchdown just before halftime, putting them into the lead with a score of 35-0.
The Indians put points on the board with a kick by sophomore Logan Clark, with less than five minutes left in the third quarter. The Indians caused two turnovers within the fourth quarter which prevented the home team from scoring.
The final quarter ended with Dodge City winning 37-3. The game put the Indians at 2-4 just six weeks into the season as they prepare to face Buhler for the district opener on Oct. 16.
