Boys cross country takes 4th at regional in Newton

On Oct 25, the boys cross country team competed at regionals in Newton finishing with 96 points in fourth place. Four seniors ran their last meet as Indians.

Individually, freshman Zachary Hopp finished with a time of 17:54 in 14th place which qualified him for a state spot. Senior Landon Munsch finished in 18th place with a time of 18:10 followed by senior Kendall Kandt in 19th place with a time of 18:11. Senior Austin Chambers finished with a time of 18:20 in 22nd place followed by freshman Ethan Shippy in 23rd with a time of 18:21. Senior Hunter Bizzell was in 25th place with a time of 18:28 and junior Dylan Schmitt had a time of 18:33 in 27th place.

Other team scores were Maize South, 49; Great Bend, 68; Newton, 79; Salina South, 103; Wichita Heights, 176; Salina Central, 187; and Valley Center, 189.
