Boys cross country takes second at Salina Central

The boys cross country team placed second out of nine teams at the Salina Central on Oct. 12th meet with a score of 87.

For the varsity team, senior Landon Munsch was able to medal in 13th place with a time of 18:06. Also receiving a medal was freshman Zachary Hopp in 15th place with a time of 18:12. Senior Hunter Bizzell finished with a time of 18:25; freshman Ethan Shippy, 18:32; senior Kendall Kandt, 18:33; junior Dylan Schmitt, 19:15; and senior Austin Chambers, 19:27.

There were 62 varsity runners.

For the junior varsity team, freshman Ryan Fort received a medal for his fourth place spot with a time of 18:58. Junior Konner Buxton finished with a time of 20:19; freshman Caden Cunningham, 20:21; senior Boone Pruter, 20:32; sophomore Chantz Taliaferro, 20:40; freshman Alex Tinkel, 20:44; junior Kaelan Dietze, 21:17; freshman Adam Brungardt, 21:27; junior Daniel Hertel, 21:34; senior Landon Stroup, 22:05; sophomore Jordan Voss, 22:07; and sophomore Brenden Koenigsman, 23:22.

There were 113 junior varsity runners.

Other team scores were Maize South, 46; Wichita West, 88; Goddard, 111; Salina South, 113; Dodge City, 116; Emporia, 195; Wichita Heights, 200; Salina Central, 208.

The next action for the Indians will be for WAC at Great Bend on Oct. 17.
