Girls cross country places 7th at Junction City

The girls cross country team placed seventh out of a 10 team field with a score of 186 on Oct. 5 in Junction City.

For the varsity team, freshman Marie Reveles had a time of 16:19 followed by freshman Haley George with a time of 17:01 and junior Summer Smith at 17:42. Senior Reagan Kaiser had a time of 18:11 and freshman Alyssa Bryant had a time of 18:42. Junior Bailee Leiker finished with a time of 18:55 followed by sophomore Lieacha Cook with a time of 19:07.

There were 68 varsity runners overall.

For junior varsity, senior Wendy Zimmerman had a time of 18:52 followed by sophomore Lacey Elkins with a time of 19:54 and junior Lisa Quinn at 20:26. Freshman Alayna Arnhold had a time of 21:45, freshman Jordyn Dake came in at 23:08 and senior Alysia Arnhold finished with a time of 24:10.

There were 65 junior varsity runner overall.

Other team scores were Maize, 39; Manhattan, 52; Maize South, 69; Derby, 117; Junction City, 120; Clay Center, 140; Great Bend, 201; Salina South, 202; Hutchinson, 260.

The next action for the girls cross country team will be Oct. 12 at Salina Central.
