Central scored with five minutes left in the first half to take a 1-0 lead at the half.
“I thought we played very well for the first 30 minutes, but we had a mental lapse on the goal,” junior Ethan Fort said.
The Mustangs then put another goal in during the second half for the last goal of the game.
“I think we did very well but we didn’t take our opportunities to score,” sophomore Lane Clark said.
After letting in six goals in the season opener Garden City, the team defense made an improvement only allowing two goals.
“I thought we played a lot better than we did in the Garden game,” junior Cameron O’Connor said.
The next game for the boys soccer team is Tuesday, Sept. 6, against Salina South in the first round of the McPherson Invitational.
