Debate team travels to Great Bend
The debate team kicked off their season with their first tournament on Sept. 17 at Great Bend. The five teams that competed for Hays High each had one win. Overall, HHS placed 4th out of 10 teams.
“We have a young team,” Fenwick said. “this was the first debate for six of our new 13 debaters, and the 3rd tournament for three of our JV members.”
The head coach for the debate team, Codi Fenwick, said it was a great start to their new season.
“I was so proud of our senior leadership,” Fenwick said. “Every debater improved skills and we all had fun.”
