Rehearsing the “50s” portion of “Rock Roll and Remember,” senior Shelbie Berens and junior Mikey Ploutz dance the triple lindy. Concentration on not only the voice but one’s feet is required, which can be a challenge at first for the 14 couples. Each of the singers is paired with a partner determined by height. Each of the couples is required to learn dances throughout the year to perform and eight at the end of the year for Dinner Show.

Dinner Show will be held on May 7-9 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased in the office or by asking one of the Chamber Singers.

Senior Emily McPherson said she has been looking forward to Dinner Show since the beginning of the year.

“Things are coming together really well,” McPherson said. “Preparations were a little slow this year because we have such a busy schedule, but I am still very excited.”

Senior Sydney Vahling said the Chamber Singers have been practicing some of their songs since before the school year began.

“We have been working really hard these past few weeks to add even more to the show,” Vahling said. “Everyone puts in a lot of effort to make this happen. I’m most excited to perform my duet because I know it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Junior Aaron Jeffus said he believes all the effort that the Chamber Singers put forward is really shown during Dinner Show.

“We’ve been practicing for this for such a long time now,” Jeffus said. “There’s so much fun choreography, it’s definitely worth seeing.”

Junior Brandon Davidson said that Dinner Show gives all of the performers in Chamber Singers a chance to shine.

“It’s always such a great time,” Davidson said. “I always love entertaining the crowds. Everyone is working hard to make sure that the show turns out great and even better than last year’s. The great part about Dinner Show is that you also get to hear your friends sing on their own, given that most of the time you don’t hear them individually.”

Senior Shelbie Berens said she is always excited for Dinner Show, even when she wasn’t a part of it.

“I enjoy performing all the songs,” Berens said. “By the time it comes around, we are going to be ready to perform a really great show.”
