Writing in an agenda

Keeping up with homework is a difficult task for many students. This is where the agenda comes in to play.

“My agenda helps me a lot in keeping my classes straight,” junior Allyson Flax said.

Throughout the school day, a few students take out their agenda and write down the assignment.  However, many are left to remember without any help.

Junior Kaelan Dietze has chosen not to use an agenda.

“I keep track of my homework better in my head,” Dietze said. “I haven’t used an agenda since middle school.”

Sophomore Logan Dale chooses not to use an agenda as well.

“It would probably help if I did use an agenda,” Dale said.

Moodle has changed the way people stay organized as well. Since most teachers write assignments online, some students question why they should write in an agenda.

“However studies show that writing things down help remember the important things that don’t have due dates,” said Dan Wax, project manager at Lifehack. He did some research on the psychology of writing and memory.

“It seems it’s not simply wishful thinking that lets us ignore our notes once they’re written,” Wax said. “There’s good evidence that the act of writing itself helps us remember things better.”
