The library staff normally has decorated the outside of library for different events, but recently, they decided to make a contest out of the decorations.
Library secretary Jill Schaben came up with the “I Spy” concept from her own children’s enjoyment of the “I Spy” books, so she decided that it would be fun to use that concept to decorate the outside library doors.
“I thought it might be fun to create a harder version that staff and high school students could do during their GPS time,” Schaben said.
The staff used several donated magazines from the library’s creative commons space and cut out photos from those to create the game.
Even though the participation was low, with seven students and six staff, those who participated enjoyed playing the game and those who won earned prizes. There were two sets of winners, one for students and one for staff. The student winner was Freshman Amos Buller, and two staff members were tied, Luke Lundmark and Jessica Roe. In the tie-breaker match, Roe won with a time of 3:07.
