Freshman Taleia McCrae, senior Hannah Harman and freshman Katie Tinkel participate in the Wright Family Activity. The object of the activity was to move a paper clip left and right every time they heard “Wright” and “left.”

Leadership team members met with freshmen on Oct. 17 to discuss the ending of the nine weeks and the meaning behind the learning styles on Career Cruising.

Before splitting into their small groups, the academies formed circles on the ground to participate in the Wright Family Activity.

“Basically it just worked on listening and focusing,” senior Kayli Potter said. “We had to work as a team otherwise the whole game fell apart. That was lead by senior Connor Olson.”

After breaking off into smaller groups, Leadership team members had the opportunity to talk to the freshmen about the first nine weeks and how they thought that went.

“My kid I had today, we actually had a good conversation, and he asked me things that I do to help and things he can do to help him and everything,” junior Kenna Pfannenstiel said. “It went pretty well. He actually had a conversation. If you actually have a conversation and let them know it’s okay to participate in everything, it goes good.”

The learning style results from Career Cruising include auditory learning, visual learning and tactile learning. Leadership team members explained what that meant for the students and how they can apply that in their schooling.

Freshmen have two more meetings with Leadership team to check in with them on how their first year is going.

“They let you know about how things are working,” freshman Gannon Winter said. “They are fun.”
