Screenings+required+in+Kansas+Schools

Kansas schools are required to do three different types of screenings multiple times throughout the years.

Vision screening is required within the first year of enrollment and no less than every two years after that. Vision will be screened for all Kindergarten, second, fourth, sixth, eighth,  10th and 12th grade, and all students new to the school district during the school year.

Hearing screening is required no less than every 3 years. Hearing will be screened for all Kindergarden, second, fifth, eighth, 11th grade and all new students.

Dental screenings will take place for all Kindergarten through fifth grade.

If anyone should have any questions or concerns about the screenings or would prefer that their child not be screened, they can contact the school nurse.

Parents will be notified with any abnormal results.
