On May 5, the Hays High boys golf team competed in the Great Bend Invitational at Lake Barton Gold Club. Hays placed second overall with a combined score of 315 strokes, with Dodge City in first with 302 strokes, Garden City in 3rd with 319 stokes, Liberal in 4th with 321 strokes, and Great Bend in 5th with 328 stokes.
For Varity, Junior Braiden Bickle shot 76 and finished 5th overall, Junior Caleb Thompson shot 77 and finished 6th overall, Senior Cooper Johnson shot 80 and finished 12th overall, and Junior Trey Oakley shot 82 and placed 18h overall. Freshman Miles Weimer shot 83, placing 20th overall and Junior Izaac Fox shot 90 and placed 29th overall.
