On Oct. 19, the Hays High Indian boys soccer teams traveled to Wichita Classical to play their final games for their regular season. After two hard-fought games, the varsity won with a score of 4-0, followed by the junior varsity winning with a 1-0 victory.

The varsity team’s next game was Oct. 23 at home against Goddard, which started the playoffs. While Goddard competed hard, it was not enough to hold back the Indians, with junior Cooper Johnson and junior Henry Speno scoring goals to end the game 2-0 in favor of the Indians.

At the varsity’s next game at home on Oct. 26, the team took on Valley Center for the regional championship. Although the Indians played them closely, due to a late penalty kick that Valley Center capitalized on, the Indians ended the game with a 3-1 loss and ended their season.

“My favorite part of the season was playing with the seniors,” junior Feyden Hileman said. “I liked the season as a whole because we had a lot of good games and close to one of our best seasons.”
