On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the boys soccer teams played against their rival, Great Bend. Both the Hays varsity and junior varsity teams came out on top, with varsity winning 4-0 and JV winning 7-2.

Moving onto Thursday, Sept. 21, the varsity team faced Life Prep. Academy in an away game. After a difficult game, the Indians fell just short of winning with a 1-0 loss. Even though they lost this game, they played Life Prep. again on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at home, where the Indians redeemed themselves by defeating Life Prep., 5-2.

“It was cool to see how different they played compared to the teams we faced, and it was interesting how we had to switch our game plan a little bit in order to win,” junior Cooper Johnson said.

Continuing their season, the Indian teams took on Liberal at home. Varsity had another close game, but the Indians tied with the Redskins, 1-1. The Hays JV team, on the other hand, won a hard-fought game, 1-0.
