Lady Indians play in tournament on Sept. 22

The Hays High lady Indians faced off against the Philipsburg Panthers and the Thomas More Prep-Marian (TMP) Monarchs on Sept. 22. Hays came into the tournament with a record of 7-8.

Against the Philipsburg Panthers, Hays struggled and lost the first set, 25-22. After a valiant effort to come back by the lady Indians, they fell short of victory, losing the second set 25-15, getting swept in the series.

The lady Indians then battled it out with the TMP Monarchs, looking to close out the day with a victory. In the first set of the series, Hays came out strong and won a close match, 25-22. Hungry for the sweep, the lady Indians took over the game, winning the second set, 25-16, ending the series 2-0 for the lady Indians.

Hays High’s record moved to 8-9 after the tournament, and they played the Circle Thunderbirds and Rock Creek Mustangs on Sept. 24.
