On March 8, senior Gavin Nutting signed his letter of intent to continue his education and wrestle for Cloud County Community College, or CCCC, in Concordia.

Nutting has had a successful wrestling career at Hays High, including being selected for the 2021-2022 All-League wrestling team.

“I knew I wanted to go to CCCC when I spoke with their coaches,” Nutting said. “It felt so relieving to know that I had an opportunity, and I was taking it and knew that I was going to wrestle in college.”

Nutting chose CCCC because he had an admiration for their coach and the team, which is one of the things he is looking forward to most.

“I’m most looking forward to experiencing the real team setting,” Nutting said. “Yes, you’re a team in high school, but It’s different in college because you actually live together and share the same experiences throughout college.”

Nutting plans to study business economics and wrestle for CCCC this following school year.
