Senior Roy Moroni, along with family and friends, signs his Letter of Intent to play football for Fort Hays State University in Hays.

A signing ceremony for senior Roy Moroni was held on Feb. 9 in the Hays High School cafeteria, as he signed to Fort Hays State University to continue his football career.

Moroni has played for Hays High for four years, three of which were spent on varsity.

“I chose FHSU because I really like how coach [Chris] Brown run his program,” Moroni said. “I also think it’d be cool to play at the stadium we had our home games at.”

Moroni decided he wanted to be a part of FHSU during his second visit to the campus.

“Everything they were about was what I wanted in a football program,” Moroni said.

Roy was only verbally committed to FHSU just 10 days before signing his Letter of Intent to play at FHSU.

“When I was able to officially sign, I was super happy and eager for what will come next,” Moroni said.
