The girls soccer team won their game in their second round of the McPherson Invitational against Salina South.

South struck first early in the half leading 1-0. The Indians tied the game back up in the 57th minute, the goal being scored by Sydney Sulzman with an assist from Maddie Keller.

Neither team scored for the rest of regulation time. The score going into overtime was 1-1 and stayed that way for both overtimes. The teams went into penalty kicks to decide who won.

The Indians swept the Cougars in penalty kicks scoring three while the Cougars only put one in the goal.

The Lady Indians’ record moves to 2-1 and will play Andover Central for fifth place at 4 p.m. in McPherson.
