Sophomore Brooke Forinash qualified for state action in singles competition after placing sixth in regional action at Newton on Oct. 12.

In order to qualify, Forniash posted a win in the first match to advance to the second round. Although she last that match, Forinash won a consolation match to earn her qualification. She will play in Ark City on Oct. 18 for state competition.

Senior Julie Balzer also played singles but lost in the first round to an Andover player to end her season.

In doubles,   juniors Emily McPherson and senior Kelsee DeBoer played Valley Center and junior Ashley Cossaart and Abbey Rupke played Newton. Both teams lost their first-round matches.
