Hays High School’s Democratic Club strives to increase community political engagement. With that in mind, the members have many upcoming events to plan for.
The Democratic Club met during its monthly meeting on Friday, March 8 to discuss these upcoming events.
On Thursday, March 14, was the club’s most recent event. The event was the Youth Democratic National Convention Training, and it was held virtually via zoom. The training explained how to register to volunteer at the Democratic National Convention, which will be held in Chicago this year.
The club’s nearest event is on Saturday, April 6. Legislative Coffee at Hays Public Library will have panelists Tracy Mann, Ken Rajes and Barb Wasinger answer questions from the community and also discuss current issues in the Kansas legislature.
“I am super excited for the Topeka trip, as well as the trip to Chicago coming up in August I hope to be going on,” junior Alivia Sellens said.
