With the Indian Call dance being next month at the Hays High School gym on Saturday, Jan. 27, Student Council recently announced the candidates.

The candidates for king are seniors Henry Fitzthum, Eric Lucio, Kyler Riggs, Jack Weimer and Ben Zimmerman.

“I was pretty surprised [when I was nominated] because I didn’t think I’d be a candidate,” Weimer said.

The candidates for queen are seniors Brenlynn Albers, Ashlynn Banker, Hannah Klein, Madighan Norris and Addison Otte.

“I am most looking forward to doing all of the candidate activities with my friends and picking out a dress,” Klein said.

Voting for the king and the queen will take place in PRIDE Time on Thursday, Jan. 25, and the winners will be announced between the girls and boys basketball games on Friday, Jan. 26.

The theme for this year’s Indian Call dance is “An Escape to Old Hollywood.” The dance will start at 8 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m.

“I am most excited about going to the dance with all my friends,” Banker said.
