Scholars Bowl took one varsity team to compete at the Colby Invitational Varsity Scholars Bowl Meet on Dec. 3.

The team consisted of senior Harold Hale, junior Levi Hickert and sophomores Andrew Duke (captain), Alicia Feyerherm and Skylar Zimmerman.

They were undefeated and came home with a first place finish.

“I feel the team did really well, but the meet went a lot longer than I thought it would,” Feyerherm said. “Even though it was long, I had a lot of fun with the team. We even found Mr. Albers senior photo in between competition rounds.”

Instructor Cheryl Shepherd-Adams was very pleased with the team’s performance.

“The Scholars Bowl team performed very well at the Colby Invite,” Shepherd-Adams said. “They can improve for future meets by memorizing science factoids.”

Shepherd-Adams and all the team members have high hopes for the rest of the season.

“I think they have the talent to go really far this year,” Shepherd-Adams said. “My wish for them is one I do not want to speak out loud for fear of jinxing it.”
