Boys cross country take sixth at Hays Invitational
The boys cross country team finished sixth out of a nine-team field at the Hays Invitational meet on Sept. 18.
Individually, Sophomore Zachary Hopp took 12th place with a time of 18:04. Sophomore Ethan Shippy took 22nd with a time of 18:44. Senior Dylan Schmitt and Freshman Allen Zollinger took 33rd and 34th with times of 19:13 and 19:22. Sophomore Caden Cunningham took 36th with a time of 19:35.
As a team, Hays finished with 137 points, well behind Garden City with 48 points. Junction City, Dodge City, Liberal and Great Bend took third, fourth and fifth with 61, 83, 88 and 124 points, respectively. Taking the last three spots were Salina Central with 193 points, Salina South with 204 points and Maize South with 220 points.
