Lady Indians competed March 26 at Fort Hays and placed first.
Competing in the 100 meter hurdles was senior Whitney Hickert. Hickert placed fourth in a time of 19.79.
In the 100 meter dash sophomores Janae Gagnon and Bree Kiser and freshman Alysia Arnhold placed second and sixth. Gagnon’s time was 13.75 with Kiser following in a time of 14.46.
In the 400 meter dash juniors Hanna Pfannenstiel and Kayla Kitchen placed first and sixth. Pfannenstiel’s time was 1:02.17. Kitchen ran her race in 1:14.72.
Two girls placed in the 800 meter run. Senior Bailey Zimmerman placed second with a time of 2:32.58. Senior Taylor Stewart placed fifth in a time of 2:41.62.
Pfannenstiel and Gagnon placed first and third in the 200 meter dash. Pfannenstiel ran a time of 27.57 and Gagnon had a time of 28.39.
In the 3200 meter run, freshmen Shelby Matlock and Shae Biskie placed fourth and sixth. Matlock’s time was 14:38.39 and Biskie had a time of 15:57.50.
Ladies placed first in a time of 4:22.07 in the 4×400.
In the 4×100 the ladies placed first in a time of 52.82. They beat the only other competitor, Victoria, who placed second in a time of 59.10.
In the 4×800, two teams competed for the Indians. Team A placed first in a time of 10:43.42. Team B placed fourth in a time of 12:44.49.
Freshman Wendy Zimmerman placed first in the high jump with a height of four feet eleven inches.
In long jump, Kiser placed first. Her jump was 15 feet.
Wendy also competed in the triple jump along with Stewart. Wendy had a jump of 34 feet and 6 inches. Stewart jumped 32 feet and 2 inches.
Sophomores Madison Bainter and Kylie Skeen and freshman Morgan Werth competed in the discus. Bainter placed fourth and threw 70 feet 3 inches. Werth placed fifth and threw 67 feet 8 inches. Skeen placed sixth and threw 64 feet 3 inches.
Werth and Bainter also competed in shot put and placed third and fourth. Werth threw her shot 25 feet 6 inches and Bainter threw hers 25 feet 10 inches.
