The boys varsity tennis team competed at its first home meet on Monday, April 8, with two teams competing for Hays.
The Hays Maroon team consisted of seniors Kaiden Bunger and Connor Stanton playing singles. Bunger took second, and Stanton took sixth. Seniors Henry Fitzthum and Carsen Riat played doubles with seniors Leo Hernandez and Corbin Luck playing doubles as well. Both doubles teams took second.
The Hays Gold team consisted of seniors Colin Clark and Conner Miller playing singles. Clark took first, and Miller took fifth. The doubles teams were senior Xavier Catura and junior Kale Schwien and juniors Preston Parr and Mason Schleicher. Both doubles teams took first.
“I am very proud of how my teammate, Carsen Riat, and I are playing as a doubles team,” Fitzthum said. “For this being our second meet, our communication has increased a lot.”
