Freshman Landri Dotts spends her time after school involved in varsity cross country and varsity cheer.
- Why did you decide to try out for cheer?
“I decided to try out for cheer because as a little girl I always loved to watch the cheerleaders and the thought of being one was awesome.”
- When did you decide that you wanted to do both cheer and cross country?
“I love the sport of cross country and thought cheer would be really fun. I only decided to try out for cheer a couple of weeks before tryouts.”
- How often do you have cross country practice?
“I have practice every day except Sunday.”
- How often do you have cheer practice?
“Cheer practices change depending on what events we have coming up.”
- What sport has harder practices?
“Cross country has harder practices.”
- Which sport do you miss more school for?
“I probably miss more school for cross country because we leave earlier.”
- Is it hard to juggle homework and two sports?
“It is very hard to juggle both homework and sports, but I am trying not to get stressed out.”
- How do you feel you did at your first cross country meet?
“I think I did okay at the first meet. I did not know what to expect, but I tried my best.”
- What are your goals for this cross country season?
“My goal is to win, plain and simple.”
- What has been your favorite part about cheer so far?
“My favorite part about cheer is how much fun the girls are. They make practices and games so much fun.”
- What has been your favorite part about cross country so far?
“My favorite part about cross country is definitely the family atmosphere. It is so loving.”
- What is the hardest part about doing two sports?
“The hardest part is the homework and being exhausted. I get home late from two practices and have a lot of homework, but I do not want to stay up all night because I need rest. Also, my body gets so sore that it needs a break, but it never really gets one.”
- What is the best part about doing two sports?
“I absolutely love doing both sports for different reasons, and I would not want to change it for anything. The best part is definitely staying very active and getting involved.”
