Senior Madison Prough signs to Fort Hays
Senior Madison Prough signed for Fort Hays State University volleyball on Nov. 11. With a lot of emotions and feelings about new beginnings, overall she is looking forward to playing volleyball again.
“Volleyball has taught me many life lessons,” Prough said. “It has taught me things I can carry on for the rest of my life.”
Prough has plans to not only play volleyball, but get a degree in elementary education and a leadership certificate.
“After high school I am planning on playing volleyball while continuing my education and then eventually becoming an elementary teacher,” Prough said.
Although Prough is ready for her next chapter, she claims to have a lot of really great memories in her high school volleyball career as well.
”Some of my greatest memories include taking second at Newton this year and even having our own homecoming dance in the locker room with my team mates,” Prough said.
Being ranked fairly high in stats of Prough’s plays, she said she gets excited about having good plays.
“I am not sure I will remember any specific plays from my seasons,” Prough said. “But I will definitely remember the feeling I get when the hitters put the ball down off of one of my sets.”
New adjustments also involve nervous feelings as well.
“I am a little nervous because the pace of the game is a little faster and there will be new things for me to learn,” Prough said. “However, I am excited I get to grow as a player and spend four more years playing the sport I love.”
All in all, Prough really looks forward to playing with FHSU.
“I am really excited I get to play in front of our hometown and to have my support system here,” Prough said. “And I also look forward to continue playing with a team that loves the sport as much as I do.”
