Students excited for winter sports season
Once accustomed to sleeping in until 7:00 a.m., it can be a bit of a system shock to have to get up for 6:30 a.m. conditioning.
It is again time for winter sports practices to begin and athletes share how they feel about starting a new season.
“I’m ready for the basketball season and I’m glad it’s starting,” junior Kaylie Schoendaller said. “We are rebuilding the team this year so we’re all working really hard to have a good season.”
Junior Ben Rajewski is pumped up for this year’s swimming season to begin.
“I am excited to start swimming again,” Rajewski said. “I hope I can drop my 500 meter race time and go to state for that event again.”
Winter athletes hope to improve their performances and succeed in their sports while other students who are not involved in winter sports look forward to attending games and events.
“Winter sports are one of my favorite things of the year,” junior Jordan Wilson said. “I enjoy football games but basketball games are warmer and easier to get into.”
