The Kansas Shrine Bowl roster was recently released, with two nominations from Hays High.
Senior Zach Binder will play for the West and Head football coach Ryan Cornelsen will be an assistant coach.
Athletic Director Clint Albers further explained the Shrine Bowl.
“The Shrine Bowl is a game held in July that is sponsored by the Kansas Shriners,” Albers said. “It is an All Star game that features two teams—the East and the West.”
Before the big game takes place, players will attend a week-long camp where they will practice plays and get to know their fellow teammates. They will also visit the children at the Shriner hospital.
“It is very exciting that we have a few participants this year,” Albers said. “It is the premier all-star game in the state and it is an honor that Binder and Cornelsen get to attend. Not every school is as lucky as ours.”
