As the second half of the season starts, the Indian cross country team headed to Junction City on Oct. 5 to compete in the Bob Schmoekel Cross Country Invitational held at Milford Lake.
The boys team was led by senior Taevian Maupin, who placed third with a time of 16:47.50.
The girls had one Top 20 runner, freshman Madelyn Wilkins, who placed 19th with a time of 22:57.17.“The best way the team can improve is listening by to our bodies and not pushing ourselves to injury,” said senior Ava Ruiz.
Their next meet is in Salina on Oct. 12, followed by the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) meet in Hays on Oct. 17.
