Boys golf takes first at Goodland Invitational on April 1
The boys golf team took first at the Goodland Invitational on April 12. At the invitational, there was a total of 79 players.
The Hays team placed with a score of 330, followed by Goodland with 360 and TMP- Marian with 375. Other team scores were Oberlin 376, Colby 379, Norton 383, Hoxie 387, Scott City 388, Ulysses 409, Oakley 410, Ellis 422, Rawlins County 423, Hugoton 423 and Wallace County 445.
Senior Payton Ruder took second place overall with a score of 80. Freshman Trey McCrae placed fairly close behind in sixth place with an 82. Sophomores Peyton Kieffer and Allen Zollinger both scored an 84, taking eighth and ninth respectively. Zollinger also hit a hole-in-one on the #10. Freshman Josh Norris scored a 91 and tied for 15th place.
The boys’ next action will be the Hays Bob Blazer Invitational on April 18, due to start at 1:00 p.m.
